Recommended Care:

  • We suggest that birdbaths and or fountain tops not be left outside in the winter. Once the top fills with water or snow and freezes, the top may crack.
  • All birdbath and fountain bases, bench legs, and statuary should be raised off the ground in winter so as not to freeze on the ground surface. Ideally, a fountain should be stored indoors in the winter, away from the elements.
  • If a fountain bowl must be left outside, remove all pumps, rubber stoppers, drain pipes, finials, and small components. Cover the top with burlap or any absorbent material(old blanket or towel) and then wrap with dark plastic, making sure that water does not accumulate in the basin and freeze.
  • Fountain pumps, finials, and other small components should be stored indoors.
  • Check the fountain periodically to ensure the cover is secure and water is not accumulating in any fountain component.

Items with pool water areas should be wrapped with burlap or any absorbent material (an old blanket or towel) and then wrapped with dark plastic, ensuring that water does not accumulate and freeze.

Tips from the Painters:

  • All the cast stone pieces are hand-painted to order. This method differs for each color. After the color is applied, all pieces are sealed.
  • Color variations will occur and are part of the unique quality of the fountain.

Depending on the color selection and environmental conditions, a touch-up may be needed after several years. Paint Kits are available in 10 oz bottles or gallon-size jugs.
