Here is a list of Type of Garden Fountain Materials:

  • Bronze and Brass - Very durable and can be very expensive.  It develops a patina effect with colors from blue to green and yellow depending on the combination of metals
  • Aluminum - Lighter than bronze or brass but cheaper to build and transport.  Not one of the more preferred metals
  • Cast Stone - Popular because of its strength and bold appearance.  Cast stone dates back to Grecian times
  • Fiberglass - Has its advantageous like being lightweight, colorful and does not break down like resin.  It is less preferred material for garden fountains
  • Iron and Steel - Although rust can provide a protective surface to iron and steel it can be powder coated to maintain its original color
  • Marble - Marble statues and fountains need to be sculpted and are better used inside than outside to maintain the marble finish
