17th Century Landscape Design in Modern Times

Jackson Square in New Orleans is rich in heritage, culture, and character. Louis H. Pilié designed Jackson Square and modeled it after the 17th Century Place des Vosges in Paris, France.

Jackson Square is a registered National Historic Landmark in the French Quarter, and 1803 is the site that made Louisiana a territory of the United States.  There is a beautiful equestrian statue sculpted by Clark Mills which is a replica of the statue that is in Washington, DC.  In addition to the statue in Jackson Square in New Orleans, two additional statues are located in Nashville, Tennessee, and Jacksonville, Florida.
