The Peale pot is inspired by the 1802 portrait of Rubens Peale with Geranium, painted by Rembrandt Peale. It is said the pot in the portrait contains one of the first specimens of geranium brought to America. This is a classic 18th century shape, with a bead of roping just under the rim.
Guy Wolff always wanted to make a line of pots that was easy enough on the pocketbook that one could "Fill a Green House with them" - traditional in form and in beautiful proportions - to answer many gardening needs.
