History of Chandeliers
Chandeliers have been an eccentric center piece and, in medieval days, a way to see in your home after dark. Whether it be Crystal, an 8 arm piece, 10 arm piece, 20 arm piece, or even a 40 arm piece. The more arms and the more tiers your chandelier has the more magnificent but the heavier it gets. Chandeliers were invented in the early medieval to light a large hallway, dining area, or any other room your heart desired. The original way to illuminate your hanging masterpiece was with candles. By the 19th century gas lighting became popular. Finally by the 20th electricity dominated the Chandelier Industry. More recently chandeliers are not for practicality but for looks and aesthetics. A matter of fact, chandeliers were actually never practical at all. The wealthier percentage of medieval times had to have constant staff members and servants to change the candles. That was the easiest part, chandelier fires were common in places and overall were just very messy. Whether hanging a chandelier that weighs a ton from your castle ceiling or a simple one tier chandelier from your flat's ceiling, chandeliers can add character to any room anywhere.
